Has carvedteakwood stand. Wright. T% 631—Celadon Ginger Jar with Teak-wood Cover (Kang-hsi) U3u Ovoid. Dense sonorous porcelain, with an extensive decoration, cover-ing most of the surface, modeled in the paste. At the base isa deep border of scrolling petals, and at the shoulder areborders of scepter-heads and the key-fret, while the body isencircled by a wide hand of flora] scrolls and foliations, the wholecovered with a brilliant celadon glaze of bluish-gray tone witha giant crackle in dark brown lines. The cover has a whitejade medallion, carved and pierced. Has teakwood stand. Hdgkt, RU iiirhr*.. 632—Celadon Gallipot or Inverted Pear-siiai-e Vase (Ming) .Modeled in five lobes as of sections of a fruit, giving a pentafoilrim ami foot. Coated with a rich glaze of eeladon quality inwhich the green note has almost entirely given way to a gray,the glaze traversed by a hold, emphatic crackle in brown andblack lines. Glaze continued within neck and underneath foot;rim and edge of foot glazed in black. Has stand. Height, inrhtn. 633— Celadon Vase (Ming) Squat body in the form of a melon of many narrow lobes, some-what compressed, on a low circular foot, and with a tall, full,cylindrical neck. The lobes are modeled in the paste, largelyby incision, and above the melon a foliate border is modeleda
