Bojnourd (Bojnurd), Kurdish Wedding, Young Girl Wearing Traditional Dress Holding Water Jug

Seldom visited by foreigners, North Khorasan is a particularly photogenic province. Located in northeastern Iran, it is one of the most diverse territories in the country, largely reflecting the ethnic makeup of Iran. Kurdish speakers represent 46% of the population, followed by Persian speakers (28%) and by Khorasani Turks (21%). Kurdish weddings are very festive. They are a unique opportunity to see Kurdish girls and women wearing their traditional costumes. Men and women are separated in two different groups and dance only with people of the same sex.
