He was bap-tized April 17, 1842, set apart April10, 1876, arrived in Honolulu June1, 1876, and upon the departure ofElder Alma L. Smith, June 2, 1876,assumed the presidency of the Mis-sion. He returned to Utah April 1,1878. Elder Pack died Nov. 16, 1907,at Vernal, Utah. PARTRIDGE, Edward, jun., presi-dent of the Hawaiian Mission from. 1882 to 1885, died Nov. 17, 1900. (SeeBio. SMITH, Alma Lamoni, presidentof the Hawaiian Mission from 1864to 1865, and from 1874 to 1875, wasborn Dec. 16, 1831, in Amherst, Lo-rain Co., Ohio, a son of Warren Smithand Amanda Barnes, He was bap-tized in July, 1841, emigrated to Utahin 1850, filled a mission to the Sand-wich Islands in 1856-1858, a secondmission in 1864, acting as president from Oct. 2, 1864, to Oct. 7, 1865. Hereturned May 9, 1868, after perform-ing a successful mission. Elder Smithpresided over the Mission a secondtime from Sept. 21, 1874, to Dec. 31,1875, returning to his home in Utah,July 3, 1876.
