THE NEW BUCKEYE STATE TOMATO, which wo introduced in 1893, has more than proved its right to a high place in the list of Tomatoes. We therefore restate below our claims for it and urge every gardener to grow it. Our claims are fully cHtablishod by the disinterested testimony at the bottom of this page of those who have tried it. THE NEW BUCKEYE STATE is the largest variety we have ever put out. It averages at least one-half larger than Living- ston's Beauty. Many mammoth sorts have been introduced of late, but on first trial they are rejected on account of their rough- ness. When, therefore we state that in ad- dition to its very large size, it is also smooth alid uniform, like all the other celebrated sorts introduced by us, we are sure we have said enough to enlist the attention of Toma- to Growers everywhere. This is not all, however, for although its large size might lead some to believe the fruits are few in number, yet the fact is, it is even more prolific and abundant in fruitage than the standard sorts now in cultivation. It is un- questionably the heaviest cropper known. The tomatoes are borne in immense clusters of four to eight large fruits, and occasionally ten large fruits have been found in a single cluster. It matures with the Livingston's Stone. In solidity and meatiness, it has no equal, in desirable qualitv none surj)ass it. The color is much the same as Livingston's Beauty, but of a somewhat darker and richer shade, and this, together with its very large size and clear-cut outlines, make it very showy and striking when displayed for sale. In shape, it is a little thicker from blossom end to stem than most other sorts. The past season we grew this variety by the onlinary method, as well
