Poundbury, Prince Charles’ quirky experiment in town planning. This pink cubic house, called "The Castle", has a castellated roof. Dorset, England. UK
Poundbury, on the outskirts of Dorchester in Dorset, is built on land belonging to the Duchy of Cornwall, the estate of His Royal Highness Prince Charles. The prince takes a keen interest in the built environment and has been an outspoken critic of modern Poundbury he is creating a new town based on his own architectural principals and a vision of a harmonious community built on a human scale. In style and appearance the buildings look old and traditional but in reality everything is new and has been built since 1993, which is when construction began.
