Mean survival was % from 1988 to 1991 (survival data from 1988-1989 collected by M. Wood, Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks) (Figure 6). Low survival of the 1987 year-class in 1988 could possibly be due to minimal observation time that occurred that year; no 1987-birds were observed after.
