The photograph shows the ruins of Chateau Thierry in France after the Germans had retreated. It was taken on July 27, 1918 by Sgt. 1st Cl. C. Jackson. The 26th Division was stationed there. The image was approved by the A. E. F. Censor on August 13, 1918.
