Contemporary paper cutting by Miss Wanda Skowron from Warszawa (Warsaw) Poland 2010

"Traditional [Polish] paper-cuttings were created using sheep shearing scissors but it is possible to use any scissors (including manicure scissors) as long as they have a sharp points. The curve in manicure scissors is good for cutting round or curved shapes. The scissors are used as a drawing tool without the need to mark or draw the design first. The contrasting background is most important to make the design stand out and give impact". Wanda Skowron 2010
