Pakistani authorities torched tonnes of seized drugs like heroin, hashish, cocaine, liquor and opium during an annual drug burning ceremony attended by anti-narcotics and other officials. Pakistan annually seizes huge quantities of drugs which straddle a route from neighboring Afghanistan, destined for lucrative markets in the Middle East.
