Beautiful tavern in the old part of Rethimno town, Crete, Greece
In the heart of the old town of Rethimno, there is a neighborhood, called "Rakadika" or "Tsipouradika", because there you can find tens of beautiful small taverns that serve, among others, "Raki", the traditional, strong drink of the island. They also have some good local wines and the world famous Cretan cuisine, proved to be the most healthy of all. If you happen to go to Rethimno, make a stop there and taste "mezedakia". Don't get fooled by the picture, it was taken right at the opening hour. 15 minutes later you couldn't find a seat.
