Neurotrophic ulcer in rubeotic eye. Close-up of the eye of an 88-year-old male patient that has been scarred by a neurotrophic ulcer. Neurotrophic ulcers, malum perforans, is a cutaneous condition of chronic trophic ulcerative disease. This eye also has rubeosis iridis, a condition in which new abnormal blood vessels are found on the surface of the iris.
