The course ended at a final location where the brigade hosted a family fun organization day that consisted of barbecue, and friendly sporting activities. The Family Spartan Forge was the last event of “Spartan Week,” a weeklong event, where each day held a set of new challenges and competitive events. The events ranged from sporting tournaments to battle-focused events, and were designed to challenge even those of the greatest strength and spirit. Each battalion within the brigade fielded at least one team for each event, and competed for the lofty title of “Best Battalion” within the brigade. At the end of the barbecue, an award ceremony was held and the winners were announced. ( Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
