Head much depressed, 1^ times as long as broad, its length 2j times iu total length, its upper surface slightly rugose; snout broadly rounded, its length 2-^ times postocular part of head ; nostrils nearer end of snout than eye, the diameter of which is 6^ times in length of head and 2^ times in interorbital width; buccal cleft f length of head ; band of ])rfeinaxillary teeth interrupted in the middle, as broad as the lower ]i|); lateral barbel \ lengtli of head, more than twice as long as [)ostcrior.
