For this, there started: theschooners Lancet^ Gimcrack, La Coquille^Minna, Brenda, Spray, Sybil, Cygnet, Pet,Northern Light, Siren and Coquette, withthe sloops Newburgh and Mist. The largest schooner was Mr. J. H. PerkinsCoquette (76), and the largest sloop was Depaus Mist (44). The only yachtwhich made the course inside Vjf the limitof eight hours was the sloop Mist, whichdid it in yh. 37m., winning the prize,this time offered by the club, and whichwas of the valueof $200 ; and thisis called in the clubannals its firstannual , I dont know,since, as we haveseen, there hadbeen one duringthe previous sum-mer. The allow-ance was the sameas before — forty-five seconds to theton—and schoonerand sloop, all wentin together, thesloop as we haveseen, getting the
