A gantry crane is provided for handling the tups and materialin and out of the drop. It consists of a beam pivoted from the column, the outer end of which is carried by an A frame runningon a circular track 17 ft. in radius. The pivot is 15J4 in. fromthe end of the beam, permitting it to project between the columnsand over the center of the drop. Before starting the test thecrane is of course swung around to one side so that the beamwill clear the tup. The two smaller tups have holes drilled inthe top near the center so that bolts may
