For several days before t^°. eruption the childmay have mild headache, a little chilliness, lossof appetite, perhaps nausea and a moderate fev-er—ioo to 102 degrees. The rash appears irregularly scattered overthe body, being most abundant on the back, andleast upon the face, except a few on the fore-head and temples. The eruption resembles waterblisters. A peculiar feature of chickenpox is that theeruption comes out in successive crops—whenone set is about maturing another set are just.
