Technical terms, descriptions of structure, discussionson nomenclature are important and necessary, but theyare interesting only to specialists, and may well be left tothem. But the habits of plants, their mode of life, theiradaptation to their surroundings must surely be interesting to any intelligent person. A great many people look for plants, but comparatively few ; ,,1!^ ^. look at them. Yet they are as interesting as they are beautiful.
