Possibly the portrait of the philosopher Antonius Polemon from Laodikeia in Syria who was invited by the emperor Hadrian to speak at the inauguration ceremony of the Olympian Zeus in Athens in AD 131. Aerodes Atticus was one of Polemon's pupils.
