Surrender Smelt Mill, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales National Park. Part of the remains of the Lead Mining Industry that once flourished in the area, mainly in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Surrender Mill was built in 1841 and closed in 1882. The Coast to Coast Walk passes the ruins.
