The father was born in 1799,and died in 1858, in Branch Co., Mich. Themother was born in 1805, and died in 187 i,while living wiili a daughter in St. Joseph Co., subject of this outline was born Oct. 2, 1834,in Niagara Co., N. Y., and lived at home until of age,receiving a little schooling. Attaining his majorityhe left home and worked on a farm by the job. In1858, in Branch Co., Mich., he married Miss AnnE., daughter of Michael and Ann E. (Cooper) Blass,natives of New York. Mrs. R. was the seconddaughter of a family of five children, four of whomare yet living, and was born June 16, 1842. Eleven years after his marriage, Mr. R. went tothe State of Nebraska, where he lived two then lived in Branch County, this State, until1868, when he came to this county and located on80 acres on section 31, Br -mfield.
