Mr. Gude spoke of the gratifying way in which the florists throughout the country are coming to the support of the Smith memorial project, stating that his committee has already received cash contributions to the extent of $1,- 750, with pledges amounting to more than $2,000. Richard Vincent, Jr., of White Marsh, also a member of the committee, asked the support of all in this work. There was amateur and professional vaudeville, but the climax was reached late in the evening when the entire troupe of players from one of the local theaters entered the doors. Various Notes. Hardy Pritchard, with Gude Bros. Co., made the trip to New York last week with the Washington American League Baseball Club, being one of a party of about thirty players and guests. Mr. Pritchard is an ardent baseball fan and has made other trips with the club. Frank P. Gall spent the week end in Philadelphia, his old home town, where Mrs. Gall is spending her vaca- tion. Mr. Firth, of Boston, was a visitor here last week. The store of Leapley & Meyer, on G street, northwest, will take on an at- tractive appearance following the com- pletion of the general overhauling un- der which it is now going. This
