Protests are increasing around the emergency closure of the Hotel - Dieu de Paris due to austerity. Protesters carried a symbolic casket to the Pantheon. The Medical Commission of establishment ( local CME ) Group Hospital Hotel Dieu Cochin , which includes twenty teachers , asked during a unanimous vote Monday, September 2 , the closure of emergency on November 4. A date was set in 2012, but postponed on July 10 by the Minister of Health , Marisol Touraine , indefinitely. The vote comes as from September 1 , opponents of the closure occupy a part of the hospital. Medical officials from both institutions who voted for the resolution called " accelerated transfer of clinical services and medical technology remains on the site of the Hôtel-Dieu hospital to Cochin ." They worry about " the growing demoralization of medical and non-medical caregivers as a result of taking contradictory decisions on the evolution " of the hospital. The general direction of the Assistance public-Hôpitaux de Paris ( AP- HP ) and the Central CME launched a project to convert the old hospital in 2012 in a " teaching hospital public health " , that is to say without but focused on general medicine (open twenty-four hours twenty-four medical home ) beds , training , research and public health.
