It should be noted how care-fully the belts, buzz saws, etc., have been safeguarded. In addition to other portable machines in this mill,there is a trimming saw, shown in Fig. 5, which isdriven by lMj-hp. single-phase motor. This saw canbe used in any part of the shop and can be operated byplugging into any extension light socket, 110-volt al-ternating current being used. It is equipped with anapproved guard, and all sizes of saws up to 10 in. indiameter can be used in it. It is used on all new carwork and on most repair jobs and saves a great deal ofhand work.
