Note—Most Lily Bulbs, being of late maturity, are not ready before Oc- tober and November (the best time to plant them). Where the ground is liable to freeze up before the late lilies arrive it should be mulched with 6 or 8 inches of leaves or manure so the bulbs may be planted on arrival.
