In politics he isDemocratic. He was a member of the lower houseof the Legislature in 1882, serving on the committeeon finance. In 1879 and 1880 he represented theRepublican Ward 9 in the common council, as aDemocrat. In January, 1892, he was appointed byGovernor Russell a member of the board of harbor 4i6 BOSTON OF TO-DAY. and land commissioners. He is a member of theSomerset and Union Clubs, of the Young Mens.
