Blood-red, turnip- shaped, \^-ith small top. tap-root; verj- tender, and good for early use and late keeping. It is Indispensable in everj- garden, however small, Hatcli's Improve'il Blood Turnip.—SimUar in shape to the Bassano, of a deep red color, early, tender and of fine flavor; a great favorite in the Boston market, wliere it is largely grown by market gardeners, Dewlng's Improved Blood Turnip.—Of fine form and flavor, deep lilood red. roots of fine form, showy, a very desirable market varietj-. Early Yellow Turnip, or Orange.—Is longer oval-shaped than the Blood Turnip; flesh yellow, very tender and juicy. It keeps well, and will serve for both Slimmer and Winter. ------- Smooth tong Dark Blood.—This is a long, smooth Beet, growing to good size, half out of the groujid, with few or no side roots; color, dark blood red; top small, dark red and upright gro\vth; keeps well. Kough Skinned, or Crapaudine.—-Aji early and comparatively new French variety, excellent for Summer use, and if sown in June equally valuable for the table. - - - -- -- -- Pine English variety, foliage small, but verj" dark red; roots medium size, dark crimson. - -- -- -- -- Small Deep Blood Ked Castelnandary.—A French sort highly es- teemed. The root is httle more than two inches in diameter at the top, tapering gradually to the length of nine inches; flesh deep pur- ple, preserves its color when
