In their church government, they are strict Presbyterians, andexceeding rigid in their adherence to discipline; in doctrine they areseverely Calvinistic, and they withhold communion with all personswho in any degree differ from them. In worship they use exclusively Covenanters. 711 the Scottish version of the Psalms. They have, we believe, one ortwo periodical publications, maintain a small Theological Institution,and are making but slow progress in our land or elsewhere. Theyhave, probably, about fifty churches, and from five to six thousandmembers, chiefly in the Scotch and Irish settlements of Secoxd Dutch Reformed Church PHnADELPHiA.
