Around the UK - Commemorative plaques showing details of the 1958 plane crash site near to the transmitter site at Winter Hill, Lancashire, UK

On the 27 February 1958, a Silver City Airways Bristol 170 Freighter G-AICS, traveling from the Isle of Man to Manchester, England, crashed into Winter Hill. The site is marked nearby with a plaque on the transmitter building and one on a post nearby. One of a number of my images of the moorland of Lancashire available on Alamy
