Zhuanta Hutong is located near South Xisi Street, named after the Brick Tower which was built inside to commemorate the great Buddhism master – Wan Song in Jin Dynasty (1115 – 1234). The tower has seven layers and is made of blue-grey bricks. Has a history of more than 700 years, Zhuanta Hutong even used as the entertainment center through Ming and Qing Dynasties. Up to 10 different opera troupes flourished and the hutong once hosted about 20 theaters.
