Oneof these, the portrait of an elderly man,dated 1650, which Dr. Bredius bought notlong since in England, he thinks may veryprobably represent Rembrandts brother,Adriaen, the quondam shoemaker, who tookover the mill after his fathers death. Theface, with its broad nose, vigorous features,and grizzled hair and moustache, is notunlike Rembrandts own.
