Jean Jacoby artwork entitled Corner. Winner of Olympic gold medal from 1924 games when medals were awarded for the arts. Luxembourg artwork.

The Only Artist to Win Two Olympic Gold Medals - For many years the painter and graphic artist, Jean Jacoby, was the only official Olympic champion from Luxembourg. At the arts contests he won two Olympic gold medals. These prizes were awarded to him for water colours: in 1924 in Paris for the triptych, ‘Etude de Sport’ (Corner, Départ, Rugby), and in 1928 Amsterdam for ‘Rugby’. At two additional Olympic Games, he was distinguished with an ‘Honourable Mention’: in 1932 for ‘Before the Goal’, and in 1936 ‘Abfahrtslauf (Ski)’. By Pierre Gricius
