The present identification is mainly based on spiculation, with particular regard to the uncommon character of the styles with reduced base. It must be noted, however, that the peculiar structure observed by Topsent (1934a: 40), which led him to transfer this species from Axinella to Auletta, has not been checked in the pre- sent specimen, owing to its small size.
