Hurricane Florence. View from the International Space Station (ISS) of Hurricane Florence in the Atlantic Ocean, approaching the USA on 12 September 2018. This storm formed on 30 August, reaching hurricane strength on 4-5 September, weakening, and then regaining hurricane strength by 9 September. It made landfall in the south-eastern and mid-Atlantic USA from 14-15 September, causing extensive flooding and destruction from rain, wind and storm surges. States of emergency and evacuation orders were declared along the threatened coasts (North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia). Photographed during Expedition 56 to the ISS.
