Mrs. Rhodd is wearing a modern version of the Iowa Indian tribal costume. The floral designs were traced from beadwork of old costumes. The Iowans were very artistic and known for their elaborate beadwork. The tribe now numbers only a few hundred. The picture was taken at White Cloud, Kansas, near Troy. The town was named after the Iowa Chief.
