This illustration from the late 1800s shows a recontructed view of Roman bronze furniture that was found in Pompeii, baased on the work done by the Nicolini brothers (Felice and Fausto) in their book published in 1854. Pompeii was a town south of Rome on the Bay of Naples that was destroyed in the 79 eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
