True toher traditions, the representatives of her people, with one voice, decided that such action must be taken as shouldresult in placing the Commonwealth before the world in a manner befitting her position in the great sisterhood ofStates, and in keeping with her past history and acknowledged prominence. By the ])assage of a bill providing forthe appointment of a commission of five members, two of whom should be women, and bv an appropriation ofseventv-five thousand dollars for the purpose, as reads the bill, of exhibiting the resources, products, and general.
