Nearly opposite a drapers shop in the mainstreet, as you leave the square on the way tothe lower town, you may see the memorial stoneto the redoubtable Jemima, after whom the redshawl, known locally as shol Jemima, took itsname. The monument may easily be decipheredthrough the railings, and the inscription showsplainly that it was the Amazon cohort in the shol goch, and not the magnificen
