A Geminid meteor or shooting star below Orion.

Geminid meteor below Orion, photographed 14 December 1996 from Tillingham Essex. The Geminid meteors appear each year at about this time, and appear to radiate from the constellation of Gemini, at the upper left. Light pollution near the horizon comes from the north Kent coast some 40 miles away.
