It is very important that the tail barring be straightacross the feathers. Some of the best individual females forthe cockerel mating will have some entirely black featherseven in the wing flights. This denotes an abundance ofpigment, and will produce stronger underbarring in theprogeny. The barring in the fluff should be good, in fact, just as good as in the back. Cockerel-bred females areusually darker colored on the legs and beaks than exhibitionfemales, but this does not hurt their breeding value forproducing exhibition males. In both sexes the barring on the breast should be straightand with a sharp contrast in color. If the barring is weak. iin((((i^ If ^ r.
