Bob Humphrys(16April 1952- 18August 2008) Welsh broadcaster and BBC Wales Sports presenter. Brother of journalist John Humphrys. Born in Spott Cardiff, Wales. Bob became a newspaper journalist on The Western Mail. He joined the BBC Radio Wales going on to become a presenter for BBC Wales TV. In the 1980's he began to report on sport and in 2004 he was given a lifetime achievement award at the BBC's Welsh personality of the year awards. In May 2008 he was diagnosed with lung cancer despite never having smoked. He retired in June 2008 and wrote his autobiography, 'Not a proper Journalist', before his death 18th August 2008.
