Peter Glazebrook, from Newark in Nottinghamshire winner with heaviest carrot (20lbs) at the Harrogate Annual Autumn Flower Show, where attractions include the giant vegetable competition, and deformed, misshapen, malformed, distorted, crooked, irregular, misproportioned, ill-proportioned, ill-shaped, ugly wonky vegetables. The show being ranked as one of Britain's top three gardening events.


The heaviest carrot has been announced at 20lb, grown by Peter Glazebrook from Newark, Nottinghamshire. The seed was sown at the end of January and planted out mid-April. It has also been confirmed that it is the heaviest carrot in the world. Previously the heaviest carrot was grown by John Evans in Alaska at pounds in 1998. Peter currently also holds the world record for the heaviest onion.
