Ulstein Bergen AS's Leroy Somer spark ignited lean burn gas engine runs on natural gas collected from the city landfill site. Total electrical output is over 1MW, and in addition 60% of the heat generated by the engine (1660kW) is used by a nearby agricultural college with the remainder being sold commercially.
