All retailers remark that this was a great plant Christmas, perhaps better than in any previous year, but in cut flowers it was poorer than in any previ- ous year we know of. As New Year's day calling has been greatly revived, there should be a good demand for cut flowers. Stock should be plentiful, with prices quite moderate. A number of advance orders have been booked for New Year's celebrations. Various Notes. Among the downtown florists, Grimm & Qorly, the Biessen Floral Co., the Mullanphy Flower Co., Alex. Siegel and F. J. Foster had their hands full of Christmas orders and were cleaned up well by Friday noon. These florists go in heavily for cut flowers, and they report that Christmas business this year was as good as any they have had. They also report having handled more plants than usual this Christmas. The Bourdet Floral Co. surely had the largest and best blooming plant stock this year, and the retailers cleaned them out early in the week. Jules Bourdet, head of this firm, s^ys it was a great Christmas. Sanders Nurseries had a grand dis- play, and O. K. Sanders says they never had such a good Christmas as this year, with many out-of-town orders to fill. Special mail deliveries came in as late as 12:30 a. m. and all were filled promptly. Kalisch Bros. Floral Co. received half a carload of blooming plants from SCHRAMM BROS.
