Fourteen pendants for a necklace, Middle Kingdom, ca. 1887–1750 BC, From Egypt, Fayum Entrance Area, Haraga, Cemetery A, Tomb 124, Silver and shell, Range of each: H. to 2 cm (9/16 to 13/16 in.); W. 1 to cm (3/8 to 5/8 in.); D. to cm (3/16 to 1/4 in.), These fourteen pendants are unique. Each pendant was created by fashioning a flat oval cut from the upper surface of a marine shell, probaly in the family Neritidae. Each piece of shell was then set into a flat piece of silver with a loop at the top
