It is a plant which forms a stouter tuber than most of the known species, and has a stout stem, which grows to some 12 or 15 inches high, bearing leaves, broadly lanceolate, acu- minate, with prominent nerves, deep green; raceme terminal, some- what lax; sepals green, petals much narrower, almost thread-like, red; lip small, white, with a few red spots.
