But he who is accompanyingus on the whole tour proceeds to Glexties, which is the nextstopping place, and by keeping to the road nearest the river thevalley of the Gweebarra River is followed, and the base ofCroaghleheen Molxtain (1,257 feet) skirted. The Gwki:h\kka ^ is one of the most important salmonrivers in Donegal ; Barra,—in which it rises,—is asalmon lough, and the ri\er, its numerous tributaries, and a largenumber of small loughs in the district, are all capital brown-troutwaters. The great drawback to this district is the want ofaccommodation : With the exception of a modest establishment atDoocharry—utterly inadequate to cope with any tourist traffic 96 PICTURESQlE DONEGAL. of importance—there is no place to stop at nearer than Glentiesor Dungloe. It is passing strange that such an attractivecountry-side, with a railway station (Fintown) convenient, shouldbe without a touring hotel, and it is to be hoped things will bealtered in the near future : then the valley of The Gwcebarra willbe visited and appreciated by tourists as it
