Looking E along the Roman road to the fort of Othona & St Peter's 7th-century chapel built of reused Roman materials on the fort's W gateway. It formed part of St Cedd's Anglo-Saxon monastery, served as a beacon-house in Tudor times, later as a barn and is now used as a chapel again by the Othona Community.
