Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors aboard USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) read in in between drills and exercises during Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise Dec. 15, 2016. During the three-week training evolution, Marines will tackle a wide range of operations and scenarios enhancing interoperability and amphibious warfare capabilities with their Navy counterparts. Marines and Sailors are not only encouraged to maintain their physical fitness standards, but hone their mental sharpness as well.
