We have described to you in former issues of this Journal how to prepare bees for wintering in the above hive. The two Inner Coats, bottomless corrugated paper boxes, with in- tervening dead air spaces and inner covering or blankets, close up about the brood-nest is what does the trick. A person could have any amount of blankets fastened up on the walls of a rooni and still freeze to death if left in the center of the room without close-up protection or insulation, Many bees are packed for winter under different conditions, without actual close-up protection. AIR DRAINAGE. In the selection of a location for wintering this should have careful consideration.
