Marine Corps Pfc. Nick Farruggia, military police with the Provost Marshal’s Office, is tased during Taser Certification Training at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Nov. 31, 2016. The 50,000 volts produced by the X26 Taser causes neuromuscular incapacitation where the subject’s muscles contract and lock up, making the individual unable to move. The training provided Marines the opportunity to understand how to operate the X26 Taser and learn the effectiveness of their equipment.
